Here is a lovely piece. I hope you can appreciate the details even though it was difficult to photograph a clear glass object. It shows a lady sitting on the ground with two Irish Setters lying beside her. That scene is on the lid. This is typical of the boudoir items that were made in the 1920s-the "Art-Deco" era.
Have I given you enough hints? It is a powder box! Many ladies used loose powder on their faces instead of the solid kind we see in small compacts today. They could have also used this box for body powder which was usually scented. Either use would have included a fluffy powder puff for distributing the powder on one's skin.  Today, it could hold pins or hair clips on the dresser or paper clips on your desk. You could even put rose petals in it as a nice way to scent a room.
