The William Secord Gallery is pleased to offer for sale twenty-three original oil paintings by the master sporting artist, John Emms (1843-1912). Born the son of the artist Henry William Emms, he studied with the great Victorian painter Lord Frederick Leighton. In contrast to Leighton's highly finished canvases, Emms soon developed his own style which was characterized by painterly brush strokes applied with a sure, quick hand Please clink on the following link to view the entire collection: http://dogpainting.com/search_results.cfm?breed_id=&Arts_id=JE&grp=&Category=&Media=&keywords=&submit=Find
